چکیده

We consider a mobile ad hoc network consisting of three types of nodes (source, destination and relay nodes) and using the two-hop relay routing. This type of routing takes advantage of the mobility and the storage capacity of the nodes, called the relay nodes, in order to route packets between a source and a destination. Packets at relay nodes are assumed to have a limited lifetime in the network. Nodes are moving inside a bounded region according to some random mobility model. Closed-form expressions and asymptotic results when the number of nodes is large are provided for the packet delivery delay and for the energy needed to transmit a packet from the source to its destination. We also introduce and evaluate a variant of the two-hop relay protocol that limits the number of generated copies in the network. Our model is validated through simulations for two mobility models (random waypoint and random direction mobility models), and the performance of the two-hop routing and of the epidemic routing protocols are compared. c © 2007 Elsevier B.V. Intuitionistic fuzzy logic for adaptive energy efficient routing in mobile ad-hoc networks

In recent years, mobile ad-hoc networks have been used widely due to advances in wireless technology. These networks are formed in any environment that is needed without a fixed infrastructure or centralized management. Mobile ad-hoc networks have some characteristics and advantages such as wireless medium access, multi-hop routing, low cost development, dynamic topology and etc. In these netwo...

The Feedback Based Mechanism for Video Streaming Over Multipath Ad Hoc Networks

Ad hoc networks are multi-hop wireless networks without a pre-installed infrastructure. Such networks are widely used in military applications and in emergency situations as they permit the establishment of a communication network at very short notice with a very low cost. Video is very sensitive for packet loss and wireless ad-hoc networks are error prone due to node mobility and weak links. H...

Broadcast Routing in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks: A Particle Swarm optimization Approach

While routing in multi-hop packet radio networks (static Ad-hoc wireless networks), it is crucial to minimize power consumption since nodes are powered by batteries of limited capacity and it is expensive to recharge the device. This paper studies the problem of broadcast routing in radio networks. Given a network with an identified source node, any broadcast routing is considered as a directed...

Performance Evaluation of Probabilistic Relay in Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vector and Ad Hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector under Highly Dynamic Environments

Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) are a specific class of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). Since vehicles tend to move in a high speed, the network topology is rapidly changed. Thus vehicle’s connectivity problem is one of the interesting issues in VANETs. Ad hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) is an extended version of ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV). AOMDV is designed to ...
